Women’s Studies is an interdisciplinary site for the study of the intersections of gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, and citizenship.
Women’s Studies offers:
Students in Women’s Studies learn critical thinking, excellent writing skills, and innovative scholarship. We encourage students to do internships and experience study abroad. Many of our students pursue double or even triple majors. Women’s studies graduates work in a number of fields including law, medicine, journalism, media, researchers, teachers, psychologists, politics and counselors. The possibilities are endless with an undergraduate degree in women’s studies.
At the graduate level, Penn State offers unique dual-title Ph.D. and Masters’ degrees. Dual-title degrees are available in Art Education, English, History, Political Science, Psychology, Curriculum and Instruction, Philosophy, Geography, French, and Rural Sociology. We also offer a graduate minor for students in other disciplines.
