Diversity Studies Undergraduate Certificate Program

Diversity Studies Undergraduate Certificate Program

An undergraduate certificate acknowledges an area of specialty or grouping of courses that enhance the student’s degree program. Certificates are not certifications. Certifications are only awarded by  governmental and professional agencies. Credit courses offered for a certificate require a grade of C or higher and minimum of 6 and a maximum of 30 credits are required. All students who enroll in certificate programs must be defined as Penn State students.

Within the Department of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, we offer the Diversity Studies (DIVSTD) certificate.

Students interested in earning Diversity Studies certificate must enroll or self-apply through Update Academics within the Student Services Center of LionPATH before the semester in which application for graduation is submitted.  Upon completion of the required coursework for the certificate, please contact Laura Spielvogel, the director of the certificate. Upon graduation, a notation will appear on transcripts indicating the completion of the Diversity Studies certificate.  If you have any questions regarding this process, please contact Laura Spielvogel.
